  学科组介绍:鲸类保护生物学学科组的前身是1978年秋成立的白鱀豚研究组。本学科组致力于白鱀豚、长江江豚、中华白海豚和扬子鳄等国家重点保护水生珍稀野生动物的保护生物学研究,重点研究濒危动物致危的内部与外部机理,种群动态监测理论和方法,小种群生物学和物种复壮理论,濒危动物繁殖理论和技术。围绕物种保护问题,深入开展种群生态学、繁殖生物学、声学和行为学,以及保护遗传学研究,重点解决自然迁地保护和饲养繁殖的理论及实践问题。本学科组拥有占地2万平方米的白鱀豚馆和3千平方米的实验楼,现有生态学、声学和行为学、组织学和生理学、水化学以及分子生物学实验室。白鱀豚馆内饲养有5头长江江豚。现承担国家基金(重点项目、面上项目及青年项目)、国家重点研发专项计划子课题、农业部长江江豚保护行动计划专项、公益性行业(农业)研究专项子课题、国际合作及地方委托等项目20余项。目前,本学科组正开展如下研究:1)人工饲养及半自然条件下长江江豚繁殖理论与技术研究;2)长江江豚自然迁地保护研究;3)自然条件下长江江豚及中华白海豚种群数量监测及栖息地保护研究;4)长江江豚及中华白海豚的濒危机理与保护对策研究;5)江豚和中华白海豚的声学及行为生态学研究;5)江豚的保护遗传学、分子生态学、适应性进化及肠道微生物研究;7) 扬子鳄、大鲵及海豹等珍稀水生动物声行为研究;8)涉水工程、水下噪声对珍稀水生哺乳动物影响的评估及保护对策研究。 

  仪器设备:较完备的生理学和分子生物学仪器,声信号记录及分析系统,行为数据记录及存贮系统,野外生态考察、动物跟踪及数据采集系统。
